Born in the village of Korostova (Khmelnytskyi Oblast, Ukrainian SSR) on 12 January 1925. During the German occupation, in 1943, she was deported to Chemnitz in Germany for forced labour. Her brother was conscripted into the Red Army. After the war Anna Hryciw completed the secondary economic school in Lviv and started working in Chortkiv where she got married. For many years she worked as an economist in the Trade Organization. At present, she lives in Chortkiv where she is involved in the life of the local Roman Catholic parish.
