Born in 1920 in a village in the Kovno district. When she was two, she was taken in by her god-mother who brought her up and subsequently signed over her farm to Ludwika. Her four siblings remained with their parents. She completed agricultural schooling and married in 1940. During the war, Ludwika Giedejko’s family sheltered Jews and was awarded the title of Righteous Among the Nations. In 1947, Ludwika Giedejko and her husband moved to Kovno in order to avoid deportation to Siberia and she lives there to this day. She has a daughter and a grand-daughter. She has visited Poland several times.
